Diabetes Prevention
Goal of the Menominee Diabetes Prevention Program:
To help people with pre-diabetes reduce their risk of developing diabetes by making changes in their eating habits and increasing their physical activity. Participants will meet individually with health educators to set personal goals.
What is Prediabetes?
Pre-diabetes or borderline diabetes means that your blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but are not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. Your body always has some sugar in it because the body needs sugar for energy to keep it going. But too much sugar in the blood is not good for your health.
